Top 100 Kenya’s most promising startups of 2020 unveiled.

C4DLab, in partnership with different Kenyan startup ecosystem players have unveiled the top 100 Kenya’s most promising startups of the year 2020.

Through an initiative dubbed Mlika Startups, the startups were subjected to a rigorous vetting process that included nomination by ecosystem players, curation of their profiles and shortlisting, before the most promising startups were finally unveiled during the Mlika Virtual conference that took place from 16th to 18th September, 2020.

About Mlika

Mlika is a Swahili word which simply translates to “shine the light”. It is an initiative which aims to shine significant light on promising startups and create a pipeline for local and international investors.

This initiative focuses on startups within the Health, Agriculture, Finance, Energy, Education, Gaming, Food and Beverages, Robotics, Media & Entertainment and Fashion.

The startups should have a business model with a social impact, or a solution to a problem as described in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Partners

Different entities have synergized to ensure significant light is shone on the Kenyan Startups. The Mlika partners includes; The German corporation implemented by GIZ, Association of Startups and SMEs Enablers of Kenya (ASSEK), the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KENIA), Nairoi Innovation Week (NIW), the University of Nairobi, and Make –IT in Africa.
